I love working with my clients to come up with their vision for sessions – and some of my favorite to plan are maternity sessions. There is something about that excitement and anticipation that is so much fun to photograph, and of course what is cuter than a baby bump and an adorable couple! This maternity session brings all of those favorite things together – a gorgeous mama to be, her adoring husband, and the excitement of a baby girl about to make her debut. We met up on one of fall’s most gorgeous sunsets and had so much fun wandering around the grounds of my studio in Frederick, MD. This couple was up for anything, and even braved high heels in some country mud to get some pretty amazing photos. I cant wait to meet their new little bundle in just a few weeks! The studio has felt like santa’s workshop recently with a ton of amazing albums, prints, frames and products flowing through here. I wanted to share a few of these with you today so you can share in the fun.

First up are the super cute flip books which feature favorites from your session with a custom designed front, and fun borders around your images.

Here are a couple of items included with the digital collection – a custom designed image box which holds your CD as well as 5×7 bordered prints of every image from your session. Also shown here is another flip book and 3 mini albums featuring 10 favorites from your session with your choice of cover color/fabric. So cute!

Next is a gallery mounted storyboard and three different mini mounted prints. The mini mounts can come with either an easel backing or a magnet backing (my favorite) so you can display at the office or at home and swap them out as the seasons change. So so so cute. I love the gallery mounted storyboards because of their high quality, unique feel, as well as the fact they come ready to hang on your wall. They also easily convert to a table display down the road if you choose to move them to a different room, by leaning it against a small easel frame. Love that you can include up to 5 images in them as well!

Finally a quick pic of tons of mini albums all stacked up – I thought they looked so cute like this. These are always some of my favorite goodies!

I had such a great time with this gorgeous couple as we wandered around downtown Frederick for their maternity session. Justin is hilarious and is so so so so so in love with beautiful mom-to-be Lakiya, and they both seem so excited (and prepared!) for their baby boy to be born soon. Lakiya was totally glowing the entire time too – with the cutest baby bump EVER! I cant wait for their babies portion of their bellies & babies session, and to meet their baby boy. Carousels, I will have you know, are not really sized for three grown adults…but we had fun anyway

I am so excited to share these images with you all. First of all because they’re of a beautiful expectant couple, on a gorgeous day with amazing sunset light, at the base of Sugarloaf mountain in the fall(what could be more perfect than that?) Secondly this family is special to me as we’ve been family friends since I was a little girl. We grew up together here in Frederick and now years later, only live a mile or two away, and we’re both having our first baby boys in 2010. Lastly I was OVER THE TOP excited when I spoke with the beautiful mama-to-be and she basically told me that I could go nuts with the creative aspect of her session, and that she was up for anything. SCORE! Apples are pretty special to this adorable family as well – this baby’s name is already picked out (and awesome!) and has a cool tie to them. Looking forward to meeting him in December for their ‘babies’ portion of their bellies & babies sessions – enjoy these sneak peeks and enjoy these last few weeks before your baby arrives!!!!!

Every time I remember to photograph some of the products that come through my studio, I kick myself for not doing it more often. I must say, receiving the big boxes from my labs never gets old…and I often find myself staring out the window waiting for the UPS or Fedex trucks to arrive bringing me the goodies. I love digging into the boxes of prints and pouring over them looking at every single detail. There is something about seeing your images in print that brings back the feeling of that session day. I get so pumped seeing the storyboards in person too – they are my most popular product and designing them with my clients is always a blast. The mini albums are awesome to keep on your desk or throw into your purse and are always designed for your session. Here are a few shots from one of my packages before it was delivered – seeing them just makes me happy.
