I had such a blast meeting this sweet family and hanging out with these adorable kids - it was the perfect session to kick off my return from maternity leave! I had so much fun snuggling with their sweet baby boy, chasing butterflies with his older sister, and giggling with them both. Their mama is so laid back and stunning too - I couldnt help but keep her in the frame on a few photos. Meeting up with them was such a joy and it was a great return to photographing my clients!

I had such a hard time narrowing their gallery down for sneak peeks so I picked a few of the ones that keep making me smile.

Tickling her baby brother - so cute!

I think I was asking her about Diego and Dora here. For the record, she prefers Diego.

Interview

This weekend I’m at the Outer Banks hanging out with a bunch of amazing photographer friends, enjoying the sun and sand and playing musical chairs with our apple products. :) I am having an absolute blast and am so glad I got to meet everyone here. Tonight we headed out for a bit during sunset for some fun group photos, and managed to capture a bunch of really hilarious moments (and some beautiful ones!)

Below are Amber of Little Moon Photography and Kristina of Kristina Young Photography - being beautiful and funny at the same time.

I am so excited to introduce my new photographer friend who I met up with today to wander around Frederick with and scout out some cool locations for future urban sessions. Sarah is bright, creative, funny, spunky and a great photographer herself (and she’s a freshman in high school!!!) I am already so proud of her - I explained in the first 10 minutes some ramblings about aperture and shutter speed and how to shoot in manual (trust me - it wasnt the best description on my part) and within minutes she was shooting in full manual. Amazing!!!

She also turned out to be my muse…as I have been mostly taking photos of landscapes in Australia - I couldnt help myself but to ask her to model for me in some of the locations. She’s a natural of course - and obviously suited to be both behind and in front of the camera!

I cant wait to try out some of these awesome locations we found on my next urban session!! Thanks Sarah for your help today!!

1. I have officially started the countdown at work!! Less than 2 weeks now before we leave to go to Maryland. I cant believe how quickly this is all coming together…and how massive the amount of packing is that we still need to do. Scary.

2. Have I discussed my crackberry blackberry yet on here? It’s like my best friend. I love her. Yes, it’s a her - and she’s pink of course. I’m very sad to leave her behind when I go to Australia. I wonder if she’ll remember me when I get back. Hopefully vacation will rid me of calling my phone a her.

3. I’m trying to figure out what to wear to dave’s residency graduation dinner…I think I’m leaning towards my cute DVF wrap dress - but I wear that thing everywhere and it would be nice for my dear husband to see me in something else for a change.

4. We saw a black snake this week on our walk around the lake behind our apartment - just chillin’ on the path. It was hilarious because we just walked around it but there was a guy standing there completely frozen and freaked out - and asked us if it was a snake. He said in an anxious voice that he is from India and they dont like snakes and spun around on his heels and walked the other way. Snakes actually dont bother me too much but I guess if I was raised around pythons and crazy venomous snakes then I’d walk away too.

5. Where are my twilight readers at!? Sooooo excited about the trailer for the new movie to come out! I.CANT.WAIT!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!
