Can I still call him my newborn? Please!!? Every day I go over to his crib in the morning and peer over the side, and his little face looks up at me and smiles. Nothing melts my heart more! He’s loving swimming in the pool this summer but the bright sun seems to bother his bright blue eyes, so we’ve been taking him in after 5:00pm so he can avoid the really harsh light. He also loves to ’stand’ up and flex his little leg muscles. This is hilarious because his face contorts into a look of pure effort as his eyebrows shoot towards the ceiling and his lips purse into a circle. He’s so cute…I cant get enough.

I could stare at this little face for hours. Ok fine…admittedly this is exactly what I do.

I havnt taken as many photos of Heath recently as I’d like to…so I made up for it today with a couple photos of my favorite faces of his, and to celebrate him being 2 months old now. He is such a smiley and happy baby - I feel so lucky to be his mom. And I hate to jinx this, but we’ve had him sleeping through the night this whole past week! He’s growing so fast I want to remember each and every day during these first few months when he’s so little. We have his 2 month doctor’s appointment this Friday and I’m excited to see how much he’s grown. July is going to be a busy month for us (isnt it for everyone it seems?!) and I’m loving seeing these little expressions every day.

My sweet baby is almost 2 months old - where did the time go!? This weekend I’m sooooo excited to have some of my Indianapolis friends coming into town to visit!!! EEK!!! SOOOOO PUMPED! I realized this week that I better start dressing my son in some of the adorable outfits he’s been given instead of only just the cotton onesies I normally reach for…and so has my obsession with tiny clothing begun. I tried popping his collar solely for the purpose of this photo - (while Dave had his back turned…he would cringe if he saw this). Now all he needs are some croakies and brown flip flops and he’d be set.

We’re definitely in the swing of things here. I went back to work, started exercising again, and life is starting to regain a sense of normalcy. Heath is doing awesome and is starting to somewhat sleep through the night, is growing like a weed, and has made my heart melt by starting to smile a ton and I even heard an actual laugh today. Not much is better than seeing your baby smile and laugh.
