I love my job! I seriously get to meet the coolest people and I’m always finding that my clients and I often have parallel lives. This gorgeous (and sweet, and fun, and hilarious) couple had a destination wedding in Negril, Jamaica, and so did we. I’m of course completely biased, but I think Negril is pretty amazing and I have a special place in my heart for destination weddings. They’re now on a new adventure with their little baby due in just a few weeks, and I am so excited and honored to be photographing their bellies & babies sessions. We headed to this awesome spot in downtown Baltimore with tons of trees and gorgeous light, and aside from a few humongous squirrels we were totally secluded. It was another of those gorgeous spring evenings and they had me cracking up the entire time with their awesome sense of humor. I cant wait to meet their baby in just a little while…enjoy these sneak peeks of this beautiful family!

On Easter morning I woke up and it was honestly one of the most gorgeous days I can EVER remember having in Spring. The sun was perfectly shining and it was warm with this cute little breeze…such perfect weather to photograph this amazing couple about to become +1. Dr. Mike Virts (or Dr. Mike as his patients love to call him) is an incredible pediatric dentist in Frederick, MD. He’s had lottttttts of experience being wonderful and kind to all his patients so I know he’s going to be such a great dad(and make sure baby’s teeth are perfect!) Mama-to-be Kristen is simply stunning – she wears pregnancy so well and is totally prepared and excited to meet her new sweet baby. Spending this gorgeous morning wandering around a beautiful old farm field in Frederick was the perfect way to kick off the holiday, and looking at these images just make me smile seeing the warmth and sunshine everywhere. Kristen with her adorable dress and the gardens totally just scream Spring, and I love how everything tied in together. I cant wait to meet their new addition for their newborn session in a few weeks!!

The perfect baby bump!

I had the honor and pleasure of traveling to the sun and the sea in Santa Barbara, California to photograph this beautiful, real, and super fun couple as they excitedly prepare for their baby to be born. The day we had our session was seriously one of the most sunny, beautiful days I’ve ever seen (of course, we were in California…) and everything just came together perfectly for us. Their adorable two pups tagged along and were quite the showstoppers themselves, and I think they’re going to be great ‘big brother’s’ to the new baby. This mama was totally glowing, had the perfect baby bump, and watching their sweet growing family stroll around the hills of Santa Barbara was so awesome. I left California thinking A) can I somehow live there and in Maryland at the same time and B) this baby is going to have so much love in it’s life. Congrats to you guys – it was so nice to spend the morning with you both and celebrate your new little life who will be here soon!

I had such a great time with this gorgeous couple as we wandered around downtown Frederick for their maternity session. Justin is hilarious and is so so so so so in love with beautiful mom-to-be Lakiya, and they both seem so excited (and prepared!) for their baby boy to be born soon. Lakiya was totally glowing the entire time too – with the cutest baby bump EVER! I cant wait for their babies portion of their bellies & babies session, and to meet their baby boy. Ahhhh what a year!

We welcomed new babies, celebrated birthdays and milestones, and cherished moments and memories with family and friends. As we reflect back on this year I’m sure you are in the same boat as me where you wonder where did the time go?! How is it 2011 already? How is my baby 8 months old and starting to crawl (uh oh)? Thankfully we have these moments captured in photos that we can treasure forever. As our kids get older and our families grow bigger we can always look back on these moments and remember exactly how we felt on that day at that time, and realize a bit of innocence and childhood magic has been bottled up for us to always have. It’s been an incredible year personally and professionally and for that I thank you – without my amazing family/friends and wonderful clients it wouldnt be the same! Here’s a look back at some of my favorite moments this year – have a wonderful New Years Eve and cheers to a great 2011!!
