Hellllllllo Spring!!! Ahhhh it makes my heart happy to see flowers and the starts of Spring around town. Every year the cherry blossoms in Washington DC are so spectacularly beautiful – and even though it was still chilly outside and the crowds were out, we had an amazing time playing in the blossoms and chasing after the ducks in the Tidal Basin. Little Amelia was so adorable too, as she kept wanting to give her mom hugs. It’s so crazy how fast these little ones grow up and I love that we got to photograph her being a little cuddlebug. If you’ve never made it up to DC for the cherry blossom festival I highly recommend going as it’s incredible to see the whole city blooming like this…gorgeous!!

Aha! I remembered to photograph some of the amazing products that came through my studio this past week. First up is one of the custom image boxes designed specifically for this newborn session, and I love how it turned out. This is part of the digital collection, which includes the CD of every edited image from the session (in both color and black and white), along with the print release and printing tips/suggestions. Also included are 5×7 bordered prints of every image from the session, and the custom image box which looks awesome on a bookshelf or coffee table. Later when Tessa grows up she can use this box as a treasure box or keepsake box – so cute.

And lastly are some accordion mini albums. These suckers are SO CUTE and are a customer favorite. They are the perfect gift, or awesome just to toss in your purse or keep open on your desk. Adoooorable.

I looooooove family sessions – there is something about spending time with a family and seeing how they hug and talk and laugh with eachother that just makes me happy. This lovely family just got THAT much cuter and sweeter too with their new baby girl, Millie. Big sister Ava is soooooo proud and adorable with her, Millie has the cutest expressions and they both have THE BEST HAIR!! I spent a morning with them just playing together, and then ducked into their GORGEOUS nursery and big kid rooms to photograph them one on one. Prepare yourselves for some major cuteness because these kiddos are ADORABLE!!

I have been loving my new offerings of Organic Bloom frames and I am excited to show you another wall gallery sample we created! Here we coordinated with the colors in the images that were going to be used, and we created a classic yet fun and beautiful gallery with an 11×14 twin double stack in pink peony and parchment as the center, and two espresso bean 8×10 frames on the side. I looooove how this turned out!!!!!

I really love my job. Now there are days where I love my job, and then there are days like this session where I get to see my client’s growing up in front of my eyes, and it brings it all together for me. I first met this awesome family when baby Tyler was only 3 months old. Then I got to see them all again (and their cousins!) for a sunflower session which became one of my favorites from all of 2010. Today I met up with them again for Tyler’s 1st birthday and I get a little teary eyed when I think of how quickly this time passes for us moms. Big sister Morgan is stunningly beautiful, and also hilarious – her side comments she kept chiming in during our walk kept me cracking up. There were forces fighing against us today (the park we were photographing at decided that THIS was the day they would pave the parking lot – so we had to hike!) but the sun came out and the weather warmed up enough for us to really enjoy the morning together. Happy Birthday Tyler – and Morgan you are a wonderful big sister!
