This weekend I met up with this gorgeous and sweet couple to photograph their maternity session and I had such a blast! Well that is if you put aside trying to find parking in Georgetown for 35 minutes…which I will, because luckily I found a semi-spot and didnt get towed. Our session ended up being the same time as a big run through the city which was actually very cool because this adorable couple are quite the runners themselves! They are also two of the kindest and loveliest people ever and their baby is so lucky to have such excited and awesome parents! The surprise is still to come on whether they’re having a boy or a girl, but my vote is boy (because I want Heath to have a little playmate!)

Cant wait to meet your little one – enjoy these last few weeks and I’ll pass along the advice so many moms before me said – GET YOUR SLEEP NOW!!!

I had such a blast meeting this sweet family and hanging out with these adorable kids – it was the perfect session to kick off my return from maternity leave! I had so much fun snuggling with their sweet baby boy, chasing butterflies with his older sister, and giggling with them both. Their mama is so laid back and stunning too – I couldnt help but keep her in the frame on a few photos. Meeting up with them was such a joy and it was a great return to photographing my clients!

I had such a hard time narrowing their gallery down for sneak peeks so I picked a few of the ones that keep making me smile.

Tickling her baby brother – so cute!

I think I was asking her about Diego and Dora here. For the record, she prefers Diego.

Soooooo even though everyone says he’ll still pull my hair out, I went ahead and cut off all my hair. It was so long that it was falling in his face while nursing, and I’d go to put him down in his crib and he’d take with him a fistfull of hair. Plus I had such long hair from all the vitamins I’d been taking and I wanted a change…so off went my hair!

Basically you can see here the transformation, from straggly and damaged to mom cut. Or as my husband calls it – ‘mature’. Thanks dear. Love you too.

Heath went to the doctor for his 1 month checkup yesterday and we’ve got some fun stats to share with how he’s grown!! He weighs in at 10 lbs 15 oz, is 21 3/4″ tall, and has a head circumference of 36.8 cm. What this all means is that he is in the 75% for weight, 50% for height and 25% for head size. So basically he is growing really well which makes this nursing mama very happy.

And since no post is complete without some photos, here are some from this past week. Napping in his crib and some cuddle time with grandpa.

4 years ago today we were in Negril, Jamaica…chillin by the pool drinking red stripes and dirty bananas at the Rockhouse Hotel, awaiting sunset so we could get married. It’s been an amazing ride since then. We’ve started 2 businesses, moved across the country, traveled to 3 continents, hiked the Andes, dove the Great Barrier Reef, had a baby, and had countless adventures together. I cant wait to see what the future holds for us, and I feel so lucky to be his wife.
