There is a moment right after we feed Heath when we get to see this adorable face. It’s during his burp time, and his eyes become wide-eyed and his eyebrows furrow…and he has this intent look on his face. No matter the time of day (or night) we always seem to crack up looking at this little serious face.

He loves his dad!

Finally some quiet cuddle time.

Just some snaps from this past week loving my baby. We’ve learned this week that he does NOT like nursing if I’ve eaten garlic and onions, that he loves his bathtime, and that he gets hiccups every day.

Here he is chillin in his new outfit from my friend Sarah. His faces crack me up!

And here he is with his great grandmother Gommy:

And finally with his Wake Forest auntie Karen who flew all the way down from Boston to meet him (and give his mama some social relief).

I cant believe my baby is 3 weeks old already! Seeing these images I took 2 weeks ago from my first attempt at his official newborn session from me make me realize how much he’s grown. His little newborn outfits are just a tad too tight now, and he’s growing into his 3 month onesies. His cloth diapers are fitting around his chunky legs so much better now, and his flaky newborn skin is gone. My little tiny newborn baby has grown into a wide eyed and beautiful 3 week old newborn, and it’s amazing how much he changes and grows every single day.

This week we’ve seemed to hit our groove. Nursing is going so much better, diaper changes are effortless, and we’re starting to read his cues and cries a bit easier now and we’re all sleeping better. We’ve taken a few trips out to civilization, eaten at two restaurants with no meltdowns, and we’re learning the ropes of wearing him in his carriers (and having him like them!) Life with him is so much fun, and every day he melts my heart a bit more.

I cant get enough of him! He’s been growing like crazy – his newborn onesies hardly fit anymore and his chunky legs and arms are filling out more every day. Nursing is going better (knock on wood) and I’m slowly getting used to the no sleep thing. Today I made my first trip to the grocery store and it only took 2 hours and one trip with daddy and baby to the car for a diaper change. People tell me eventually life will be normal…? He’s the sweetest baby and has a really laid back personality, and he melts my heart so many times each day with his tiny smiles and little coos.

I love him!

My sweet pea at 2 weeks old. I’m loving all the newborn snuggles, soft skin and sweet smells, and his adorable little smiles. He’s amazing!
