This weekend I met up with a gorgeous mama and her stunningly adorable little boy Marino. I instantly fell in love with his little curls, sweet personality, and heartbreaking smile…he is seriously SO CUTE!!!!! I met this awesome mom a while ago through theknot.com when we were both planning our weddings, and I’m so lucky that I am now living close to so many of those ladies. It was awesome to finally meet in person a boy I’ve seen in pictures for so long, and it was my honor to take his photos! He spoiled me as this was my first client session in Maryland – and the first at my studio in Adamstown Maryland! I just love the natural indoor light we have going on and the endless options available outside in the fields and forest.

I am so excited to introduce my new photographer friend who I met up with today to wander around Frederick with and scout out some cool locations for future urban sessions. Sarah is bright, creative, funny, spunky and a great photographer herself (and she’s a freshman in high school!!!) I am already so proud of her – I explained in the first 10 minutes some ramblings about aperture and shutter speed and how to shoot in manual (trust me – it wasnt the best description on my part) and within minutes she was shooting in full manual. Amazing!!!
She also turned out to be my muse…as I have been mostly taking photos of landscapes in Australia – I couldnt help myself but to ask her to model for me in some of the locations. She’s a natural of course – and obviously suited to be both behind and in front of the camera!
I cant wait to try out some of these awesome locations we found on my next urban session!! Thanks Sarah for your help today!!
I went ahead and FINALLY got my computer set up and it feels SOOOOOOO good to be back behind the screen, editing away. I quickly browsed through the photos, picked a few favorites that I dont think I blogged yet, and gave them an edit in photoshop. There is something about photos at the beach that I just love in black and white, so I did a few like that below. Others just screamed for a punch in color, and some highlighting of the lights and darkening of the shadows. All totally bring me back to the amazing moments we had traveling around, and they all make me happy.

This mini-maternity is ABSOLUTELY free…you get the mini session + 10-15 high resolution images in both color and black/white on a CD along with a printing release. You pick the location – whether it be a cool park, an awesome urban scene, your home or any other favorite spot. We’ll document your gorgeous baby bump (between 34-36 weeks usually) and then hold an incredible newborn session (held within the first 2 weeks of bringing your baby home).
