Today’s the day – we’re flying to Australia this evening!!!  I cant believe it…I’m still in denial.  I’ll probably not believe it until I get off the plane.  We will be spending the next 6 weeks traveling through the East Coast of Australia and we get back to Maryland at the end of August.  I’ll be posting as often as I can find an internet cafe – hopefully with some fun pics along the way.

I am SO looking forward to this adventure!!  Take care everyone!!!

So life here so far has been pretty great!!  I’ve been here less than a week but the weather has been GORGEOUS, the people so nice and sweet, and my friends and family have been so warm and welcoming.  I cant believe we’re leaving for Australia on Sunday….like totally not packed/living in denial type of not believing.  We need to fix that ASAP…or else I’ll be wearing the same clothes for 6 weeks.

Took these photos today on my drive back from the bank – fresh cut hay fields and a beautiful blue sky looked so inviting.  If you were one of the 4 cars that drove by me taking these pics on the side of the road – hello there.  I know I looked uncomfortable and awkward side stepping the hay and yes that was my flip flop in the road…it was sort of a disaster.

Hey everyone!!!

Dave and I are all moved in and mostly unpacked.  We’ve recycled all the boxes, walked in (and immediately walked out due to the ridiculous line) of the DMV, opened up bank accounts and gone on several best buy/target runs.  We’re somewhat organized, and already loving life out East.  Dave flew back to Indy today and I meet him on Friday for his graduation from his residency program, then it’s our last drive back to Indy and on the 12th we fly out to Australia.  So while I feel like we definitely have the biggest hurdle (moving) behind us, with so much still to do I feel like we’re not really settled yet. 

I really need to get this internet thing figured out though as I am beginning to twitch from lack of connection!!   Just wanted to check in and thank everyone for the travel safe wishes and awesome emails.  I’ll miss all of you Indy friends so much!!  I also really, really miss my camera!  I keep seeing these incredible hay fields and gorgeous weather out here and am DYING for a session….I cant wait for the fall!!

I’ll touch base before I leave for Australia – I cant believe we’re going in 4 days!!  And I’ve only slightly packed….

Love you Indiana – I’m leaving you today!  You’ll be missed!

 OK so no 5 on Friday today…I’m going to put that on hold for a while until I get back in the country.  As far as my blog updates from here until I get back from Australia, I’ll try to post as often as I can – hopefully with some fun pics along the way from our trip.  I’m not bringing my laptop, so the photos will all be straight out of the camera.  When I get back I’ll go through and run a few through photoshop and show you all the before and afters  so you can see what I do in my ‘digital darkroom’.   

I leave for Australia on July 12th so I do have a little bit more time – and Dave graduates from his residency program on July 10th so these next few days are going to be a whirlwind…should be fun!!!
