Back To Indiana

June 27, 2009

So we’re all packed up (except for my closet - which I’ve been avoiding like the plague as it’s overwhelming), and we have less than 1 week here in Indy. It’s been a long ride here…and with so many changes, and so much going on…it’s hard to even find time to really think about all that we’re leaving behind.
This was where we lived for so many life events - my first real job, our first apartment together, getting married, grad school, residency, loved ones born and gone…so much happened while we were here and it’s really bittersweet to move on to a new chapter. Mostly sweet as I know we’ve lived such a great life here and I know even more incredible experiences are yet to come. But I will miss my friends here and the first city I chose to call home.

Turn your speakers up and enjoy tons of random snapshots from the past 6 years, and the song “Back To Indiana” by incredible, The Elms - www.theelms.net

5 on Friday!

June 26, 2009

Actually instead of doing my typical 5 on Friday I’m going to babble along about all the news from yesterday…it’s on my mind, it’s upsetting to me, and I want to chat with you about it all.  Plus I cant think of 4 other things…

Along with the rest of the world - I am in complete shock and sadness over the passing of Michael Jackson.  Seriously - so stunned…so sad.  It was interesting…I was at a bar last night with coworkers, celebrating my going away party, when we heard the news.  Everyone instantly jumped on their blackberries and Iphones to check out what the ‘real’ news was saying (TMZ vs. CNN credibility debates ensued), and it was like the entire bar erupted in chaos.  Shortly after speakers and a mic were set up and a girl was singing (very poorly I might add) a kareoke rendition of Man In The Mirror as a tribute.  The whole bar sang along and waved their lighters…it was actually really sweet.

I know he walked to his own beat - many artists do - but I feel like he is our generation’s Elvis.  His music is tied so closely to the years of my life - thriller, billy jean, rock your world…so many memories with great friends rocking it out.  He’ll be so greatly missed and I’m glad to see that fans are remembering him mostly for his great contriubutions to music.  We’ll miss you Michael Jackson!

Obviously in other very sad news - Farrah Fawcett passed away too yesterday.  I am sad that she was overshadowed, as she is an iconic personality in her own right.  In fact last night I was discussing with a 52 year old coworker that he was much more connected to Farrah than he was to Michael.  Totally understandable as she was a girl of the 70’s and MJ was an 80’s guy.  It’s always sad to see life end for people so full of life.

Out of all my products these little gems are probably my favorite. They’re 3×3 mini albums with 8 images and are just so cute! I love to finish them with a linen or pearl finish texture - so pretty! I cant get enough of these and just wanted to share them with you guys!

To continue on with my product posting - I wanted to share my coffee table book offering…what I call my Storybook Album!  Each of these 8×8 albums are custom designed with either a gorgeous template (this one here is for newborns), fun borders or modern layouts.  The cover can either come in leather or a custom designed cover with your photos included.  The pages can be either hinged so they lay flat, or turned like a book - and my favorite part is that the pages can come with a pearl finish (which is one of my favorite looks!)

This storybook album is available in a collection and a la carte, and makes an awesome keepsake from your session.  Love these!!!

So this week has become my unofficial product hype week. :)  Yes that means that I’m not pulling my weight packing…but after I lost accidentally boxed up  my lunchbox, tape measurer, cell phone charger and dental floss - I think the world is a better place with me not AS involved.

I’ve finally been able to organize and photograph all my awesome samples and have created really incredible packages with all my favorite products for my new Maryland clients.  These little gift albums are perfect for grandparents, make amazing gifts, fit nicely on a desk, and are the perfect size to fit in your purse.  This album below is shown with digitally matted prints and a chocolate leather cover, but TONS of other leather color options are available (my favorite is aqua!)  I can also have the prints cover the entire page or we can use a fun border or album design.  Your choice!

I just love these!!!
