These weeks are flying!!!

1. Heading to Chicago this weekend!!!!  So excited – my friends wanted to make a fun weekend out of it so we have reservations at our favorite spots, a fun hotel room, tickets to the architectural boat tour, plans for watching the cubs play from the cubby bear in wrigleyville (away game), and a ton of other fun things planned!

2. Another week gone, another week closer to the NHL and NBA playoffs.  I have the Redwings in an office pool but we’re a Blackhawks home…so I’m torn!

3.  Anyone have a cat?  Why oh why does my one cat think it’s appropriate to eat plastic?!  Every day I seem to come home and find bite marks in the most random things.  We thought we removed all the plastic bags, products, etc. that a cat could eat, but you’d be surprised to find what they can grab.  Really annoying and scary for my cat at the same time!

4. It’s finally starting to get really warm here!  We’ve had a pretty mild spring (loved it!!) but yesterday and today were in the 80′s – hello summer!

5.  Dave CAN NOT WAIT to see the Angels and Demons movie.  Literally every single day he asks if we can go tonight.  Tentatively we are set to go see it sometime on Monday – I’m sure it will be great.  We loved the books so I’m sure we’ll love the movie!

Have a great weekend and have a great MEMORIAL DAY!

Timeless

This evening I met up with Alyssa and her family and I left the session with such warmth in my heart!  Her family is AWESOME…seriously awesome – and they drove all the way down from Chicago to visit with her grandparents who are in a nursing home here in Indy.  The entire session I felt so lucky to peek into their world and see the love and admiration they all have for each other.  You could FEEL the love their grandfather has for his family, and the way their grandmother is so so proud of everyone.  It was a blessing for me to spend time with them today – if we can all be so lucky to grow old together with the ones we love!

Enjoy these sneak peeks!

I just love how in this one everyone’s laughing…

Wow!  This weekend I flew to New Jersey for my friend’s wedding and IT.WAS.AMAZING!  Friday night we met up with our friends in Hoboken and had a blast, and then headed into Summit, NJ for the wedding.  The location was phenomenal – a gorgeous garden retreat called the Pleasantdale Chateau .  For those of you who know me, know that I love weddings…and oh my…this one did not overlook a single detail!  The flowers were stunning, the food amazing, weather perfection, and the bride….so so so beautiful.  The entire time our friends and I kept thinking we were having an out of body experience….I cant wait to see the professional photos!!  They looked amazing from what I saw in their reception slideshow!

I made a sorry attempt at bringing along my point & shoot camera to take some casual photos….that worked for all of 20 seconds on the way to the reception and then I dropped my camera in Dave’s coat pocket and forgot about it.  I really wish I could make a better effort at documenting just for fun more of my life….glad to know my friends compensated and brought their cameras too and took a TON of pics.  All fun to flip through this morning too and remember the moments. :)

So here are 2 out of 5 of the photos I took that night….Congrats again to Dennis and Christine who are flying to Italy for their honeymoon tonight!!

Happy Friday!!

1.  Heading out of town AGAIN this weekend – this time for a good friend Christine’s wedding in New Jersey!  Christine and I have been friends since college and I know her wedding is going to be INNNNNNNNNCREDIBLE!!!!  I’ve heard specifically NOT TO MISS the champagne cocktail hour.  No worries – I will be there.  Congrats Christine and Dennis!

2.  I had my first experience with ‘friendship bread’ this week.  Ever heard of this?  I hadnt really, so when my friend Andrea gave me a bag of cream colored goo and told me to make bread with it I was, to put it mildly, skeptical.  I fed my little bag of goo for about a week and followed the directions, and wouldnt you know – 2 yummy loaves of sugary bread came out of the oven.  My coworkers were very happy I kept said goo.

3. The NHL must be in heaven this week.  Game 7′s, fighting, good rivalries approaching…makes for exciting games!  I still cant keep my attention on them for too long, but Dave loves hockey so we’ve had it on our TV nonstop this week.  Joy.

4. We had pretty bad storms in Indy this week and a lot of local people are out of power – here’s hoping it all comes back on soon!

5. I hope everyone out there had a wonderful day on Mother’s Day last Sunday.  I am fortunate to have my mom, my mother in law, a Grandma and a Gommy, lots of aunts, and a great-aunt-of-sorts around to be so thankful for.  A big hug and happy mother’s day thoughts to all my moms.

Have a great weekend!!!
