March 29, 2009

Sharing another gorgeous product with you guys!  This is one of the options for a brag book - a hardcover book with thick pages that lay flat…perfect to show off your photos to friends and family!  I love these in the 5×5 size which is perfect to carry in your purse or keep on your desk and they work awesome as gifts for grandma too!

5 on Friday

March 27, 2009

Hey guys! Here are my promised 5 on Friday notes!

1. So embarrassed to even address this…I wish we could forget…Wake had a humiliating upset loss in the first round of the NCAA tourney. Dave and I were on a flight home from Vail and paid to watch the channel on our little in flight TV….only to see the score never really break a 7-10 point deficit. RIDICULOUS! The only upside was a hilarious voice mail we received from AJ (Dave’s brother) who is a Wake alum himself and was equally angered by the loss. His message was quite amusing. :) I guess we’re now looking forward to football season….

2. My dad is doing better and is resting up at home - thank you all for the concern and emails I got wishing him well. He’s a trooper and has my mom nursing him right now…which he has described as ‘interesting’. :)

3. My sister is coming back this week from her month long work trip to Asia - I cant wait to hear all about it and see her photos!!! She sent updates when she visited Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam and Tibet…what an incredible opportunity!

4. I took a few weeks off from sessions to make time for vacation and also to work on a lot of behind the scenes exciting changes coming up within the next few months. Stay tuned for details on them all - I’m so excited!!

5. I met up with Indianapolis photographer Maya Laurent of Maya Laurent Photography for lunch on Wednesday and it was great to catch up with her busy-self in person. She is an amazing photographer who does incredible wedding work and I’m also a huge fan of her senior portraiture. Check out her website and especially her blog where I love to see all her sneak peeks and read stories about how their family took the big step to pursue their dreams. You’ve gotta love her adorable son too! So cute!

Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing some fun products! Some are available a la carte and others are included with the purchase of one of my collections. This first example is a proof book that will be included with the purchase of all digital images from a session. These are great to toss in your purse and show off to friends/family or stand on your desk at the office. I finish these with a linen texture and the book is a 5×5 size.

Skiing last week in Vail was incredible.  The weather was gorgeous, the snow was perfect, friends were great to see, the hot tub was awesome and even though my father broke his leg it was so nice to see him too.  (get well soon!)  I took a few pics along the way of the group though I wish I had taken more!!  These were taken with my tiny point and shoot - fits into my pocket….love that!

5 on Friday!

March 20, 2009

Hey guys - I’ve been in Vail skiing for the past week so sorry for the lack of posts this week!  Here are my 5 topics for today!

1. Dave and I almost missed our flight on the way out to Colorado!!  We were seriously in line in security when they started paging us overhead.  We ran to our gate (at 6:30 in the morning - not fun) and they were giving our seats away.  We did make it on but ugh - anxiety we didnt need!

2.  VAIL IS BEAUTIFUL!  We’ve had the most gorgeous weather out here - sunny every day with gorgeous blue skies and warm temps.  I have pics I’ll try to sort through soon and post a few.

3. The one huge downside to this week was my dad broke his leg while skiing!!  He’s getting out of the hospital today and is recovering well but it was pretty scary to have something like that happen.  We are very thankful it’s his leg and not his neck/head and are glad he was wearing his helmet.  Such a freak thing!

4. The NCAA tournament is in full swing and Wake plays tonight!  Of course I’ll be on an airplane at the time so I wont be getting to watch (bummer) but I hope they come through!

5. St. Patty’s day was a blast this year…we skied all day and then in the evening the 6 of our friends and us went out to dinner at this cool pizza place in Vail and then went to a fun pub called George’s.  Even people on the slopes that day were wearing hilarious outfits, green hula skirts, etc.  So fun!!
